Visited on 30-06-2004:
They arrived on 30th June 2004 to Hyderabad and were received by Sri. Varma and representative of Smt. G. Satyavani. They were taken to Darmapuri and received very well by Sri. Murali, Manager of the Darmapuri.

It is quite fascinating to know how the name Dharmapuri has been christened to this holy place, which has been graced by Swamiji during 1989 itself.

It was informed that Smt. Arundhathi a lady devotee has been living near Durga Temple which was constructed by Smt. G. Satyavani more than 17 years back and once the money from the Hundi was stolen by a muslim boy. The boy got Paralysis and when he told his father the truth , they brought the boy with Hundi money and returned the same and sought pardon from Durga devi for the fault he had committed. Subsequently, the boy became alright. This was the basis how the name Darmapuri has came to this place, as per Sri Murali.

Swamiji visited this temple in 1989 and performed Kumkum pooja Himself at that time. He visited the house of Smt. G. Satyavani also. After 1989 till Mahasamadhi, Smt. Satyavani was not in touch and contact with Swamiji. However, she visited Bangalore ashram after Mahasamadhi and when she prostrated to the Vigraham of Swamiji, for un explained reasons she broke down for quite a long time. She has developed deep Atmic connection with Swamiji, thereafter.

Some time back when Hyderabad devotees were searching land for Swamiji’s new ashram, as the old ashram had been taken for the construction of International Airport and when she was contacted by Smt. Varalakshmi, worthy daughter of Sri Pulla Reddy , she readily agreed to hand over the entire Temple Complex of Darmapuri to the Swamiji trust of which she herself is Vice President.

Darmapuri spread over 20 acres area is part of a housing lay out of 270 acres consisting of total 1600 housing plots owned by members of Venkatram Welfare Association. Shiva Balayogi Dhyan Mandir (Meditation hall) under construction is 42 feet X 42 feet across sides octagonal shaped surrounded by 8 smaller 10 feet X 10 feet octagonals, 3 being closed type on Western side and rest of open type with top roof but sides open. The main hall of Dhyana mandir is pyramidal type, very much liked and preferred by Swamiji and effectively good for meditation initiation and meditation practices.

Left of Dhyana mandir at 50 meters distance and 8 meters higher, Padmavati Temple is existing. To the left of Padmavati Temple at distance of 25 meters and 6 meters higher Lord Venkateswara Temple is existing. Lord Venkateswara Temple is located on the highest elevated portion in the entire area. Towards front of dhyan mandir in the Eastern direction, on the left at 20 meters distance Sesha Sai Temple is existing. Around 50 meters from Sesha Sai Temple on the left, Lord Shiva Temple is existing. On the left of Lord Shiva Temple at 20 meters distance Vijay Durga Devi Temple is existing. From the dhyan mandir at around 15 degree South ward at 100 meters distance, Shiridi Sai Temple is existing and at 15 degree Northwards at 80 meters distance Anjaneyaswami Temple is existing. There are Temples of Saraswati Devi and some more gods and goddesses perhaps total 18 numbers at present. It is more likely Smt. G. Satyavani may ultimately make some more temples and all may total around 108 temples, as per Sri Murali

It is likely that the completion of all the works including the preparation of Vigraham from Purulia (West Bengal) may take 6 to 9 months, however for the stay of devotees 9 cottages on the pattern of Adivarapupeta Ashram inclusive of kitchen and dining hall are needed to be planned and executed to make the ashram independent and comfortable for meditation.

It is hearting to note that Smt. G. Satyavani has taken over the reigns of Guntur Ashram also which is also getting Swamiji’s vigraham and waiting for transformation with main activity meditation.

Presently Annadanam is going on every Thursday in Sri Siridi Sai Natha Temple and the preparations are done by the Archaka families residing in Darmapuri Kshetram. It was observed that the whole group is very dedicated and almost all took meditation initiation during our visit. It was arranged in Siridi Sai Baba Temple.

We visited Professor P.N. Murty at 86-B, Sanjiva Reddy Nagar complex. Professor P.N. Murty like General Hanut Singh is a very great and old time devotee of Swamiji.

On the instructions of Swamiji, he has successfully completed the translation of entire 32,000 slokas of Yogavashista, the great Maharamayana of India and containing entire philosophy of Swami.

The first of six volumes has already come out and copy can be ordered from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kulpati Munshi Marg, Mumbai – 400 007.
